Back in 2001, Will Robertson created a website called The Adventure Page (TAP) where us friends could interact on the web. In that year we also started making short movies and posting them onto the TAP website, which at the time was pretty revolutionary. This was way before the days of YouTube so video on the web was very new. As time progressed our movie collection grew and we wanted a more formal place to show people these short movies off. We decided to get more serious about it and wanted a new look and that is how GiveMeBackMySon Productions was born. The name was taken from a Mel Gibson quote in the movie Ransom. As time went on, we all got jobs and became busy, needless to say, we stopped making movies and our site basically turned to dust. Now, with a renewed passion, we have taken the remains of what was left of the old sites, updated the design and have reposted not the complete collection of our movies but at least the ones we consider worth watching. Our goal is to start making movies again that are better than ever before, so kick back and enjoy the show. |

Who runs GiveMeBackMySon.com? The site itself is run by Will Robertson. For any questions you can email him at will@givemebackmysoncom. Who makes all the videos? The videos are all organized, directed, and edited collectively by the majority of the people you can see listed below. There is usually a crowd of other talented individuals who contribute, but there aren't really any well-defined positions. Why do some of your videos say they are from 15SecondFix.com and not GiveMeBackMySon.com?In 2005 we tried to branch off and create a new movie website called 15SecondFix.com. It worked for a while but eventually fell apart. All the movies we made at that time were made under the name "15SecondFix Productions" and even though the website died we decided to just repost them here for all of you to see. Why do you do this? For money? No, it's all for fun. Of course, we would all love for this to eventually lead to a job in "the industry", but the site itself is 100% for fun, and 0% for profit! Kind of like firefighting. Are you guys on drugs? Not usually, but I would say that, overall, most of the stuff on the site is compiled with a sober mind or at 4 in the morning. Has the site always looked like this?Nope. The original site was launched in July of 2001 and was titled as The Adventure Page and had a whole lot of other stuff besides videos. Three years later after focusing most of our efforts on just videos we renamed the site to TAP Films. A few months later in November of 2003 it was officially renamed to GiveMeBackMySon and has stuck ever since. What type of equipment do you use?Back when we were all poor we filmed everything with whatever we could get our hands on. We now use a Sony HVR-Z1U HDV Camera. As far as post-production, we use FinalCut or Adobe Premiere for editing depending on whos house we are editing from, and sometimes Adobe After Effects for the special effects. This website itself was created with Adobe Photoshop, Zend, CSS and is using Drupal as its content management system. There has been A LOT of custom programming to Drupal to get it to fit our needs, all of which was done using PHP with mySQL for the database back end. What song is used in the spasmodic video?Teachers by Daft Punk. For more information on the video look here. Didn't spasmodic take you guys forever to make?!?No, not really. Just go here for all the info on it. |
